Chic Parisian “Le Jardin” Inspired Tablescape | Featured on Hostess with the Mostess
We were just featured on Hostess with the Mostess for this chic Parisian-inspired tablescape and flower wall! Below is the interview about this shoot and here is a link to see the full feature!
What was your inspiration?
I was drawn to the black and white stripes. I wanted to do something bold and a little different today to kickstart spring. And then a Paris garden theme came to mind so I wanted something high-contrast, bold and exciting with a very garden-fresh feel. (Linen: Canopy Stripe Onyx Napkins: Fuschia Satin Lamour)
The arrangements are gorgeous. Did you originally have this idea of repetition?
Yes. We wanted to keep continuity because we really wanted the floral wall to be the focal point to keep the design clean and symmetrical while still having that garden look and feel. That juxtaposition of modern lines and fun, approachable decor is what I love about this design. Very reminiscent of Kate Spade.
Tell us a little bit about that – it’s gorgeous.
Michelle from Growing Grace used peonies and roses in all of the different colors. She designed the wall by hand this morning. With the tall, dramatic ceilings of the venue the floral wall gave us that perfect statement piece.
Tell us a little bit about the seating.
I used the Versailles bench and matching high-back chairs, so it really helped me to bring in those French elements. It adds a touch of elegance and softness. The napkins added a punch of color that popped off the already bold striped linen. I used plates with touch of flair and clean-lined flatware because I really wanted the flowers and linen to be the stars of the show. Just very symmetrical lines to play off the stripes and have the flowers be the garden part of the design. We see a lot of muted tones in weddings so this is a little outside the norm and perfect for spring.
Who is your target bride for this design?
This is for the Kate Spade bride.
