Monte de Oro | Beautiful Temecula Wedding Venue

Monte de Oro | Temecula Wedding Venue | Michelle Garibay Events

I love working with these ladies – every single one of them – and when we work together it is always magic and I know it will be amazing.  Sounds corny, but when you love what you do and the chemistry of your team clicks every time you work together, it makes it super easy to say “yes” whenever one of them asks to collaborate.  Such is the case here.  When Leah said I had to do a shoot with her at this venue here, there was no hesitation.  Monte de Oro is a serene and majestic winery with beautiful architecture, larger-than-life windows and panoramic views of Temecula wine country.  This is one of those accommodating venues intimate enough for smaller events and spacious enough for larger events.

And, in my typical style, I have a tendency to buck regional design trends and try to push things in other directions.  Wine country can get a little monotone at times pumping out rustic or vintage weddings on a weekly basis, but it is important to realize that the wineries and venues each have their own style that can serve as a blank canvas for any event design.  Don’t be afraid to step out and do your own thing.  My inspiration was to do something opposite of rustic or vintage – more elegant and refined, but with a twist.  Fun and a touch whimsical.  Kate Spade was the first thought that came to mind.  Champagne and confetti, gold polka dots, stripes and classic pearls.  A punch of vibrant color.  I loved the combination of navy and coral together for this shoot and I wanted preppy navy stripes but not so much that it took a turn towards nautical.  Jennifer at Soiree Design did such a great job with the florals in different shades of peach and coral and pops of dark blue.  The striped navy bow on the bouquet was a darling touch to tie in with the chair sashes she provided.  The centerpiece design was lush with elegant simplicity.  I love when I am able to give her colors, a vision and she hits it out of the park.

One of my favorite aspects of the shoot was the bridal gown.  Not only is Jaime Elyse a talented gown designer and generous professional, she has now achieved rock star status and I couldn’t be more honored to work alongside a local celebrity!  This exact gown made its debut on the runway at New York’s Fashion Week on September 10th!  I was beyond excited when she let me use it in the shoot well in advance of the show.  If you look closely at it, the fabric itself has stripes in it so it tied in nicely with the design.  Domenica created the perfectly chic and timeless look for our bride and made those blue eyes just mesmerizing!

It was a nice addition to include the rich wood table from Rustic Urban Events.  It complemented the warm earthy tones of the venue itself and it was still a polished enough piece that was able to frame the more sophisticated décor. Jake Duke’s collection of eye-catching vases, gorgeous clear plates and glassware completed the look.  Truly Madly Sweetly Bake Shop contributed more fun to the design with their simple and sweet gold polka dot cake and I added the “XO” cake topper to tie in with the stemware tags on the tables.  Erika at Paper Villa tied all of the details together with her gold foil confetti invitation suite and paper detail.  I loved the pop of coral for the reply envelope.

Any, shoot (or wedding!) cannot be done any justice without a talented photographer behind the lens, in this case, the dynamic duo of Leah and Marcella. They are gifted, amazing professionals and I am always eager to see my work come to life through their eyes.
